I started Jake’s Taxidermy in 2008 with a simple goal: do honest work, treat people right, and create mounts that truly honor the hunt. As a hunter myself, I understand what goes into every animal that comes through my shop. I know the time, effort, and emotion behind it, and I believe the finished piece should bring you right back to that moment.
I’ve hunted across the United States, as well as in Canada and South Africa, and that experience shapes the way I approach every mount. I pay close attention to the details that matter—form, expression, posture, and the small touches that make a piece feel real. This isn’t assembly-line work. Every mount is handled by me with care, precision, and a commitment to getting it right.
At the core of my business are honesty, integrity, and pride in craftsmanship. I believe in being straightforward with my customers, standing behind my work, and creating pieces that will last for years to come. When someone picks up their mount, and it takes them back to the hunt, that’s the standard I’m after every time.
When I’m not in the shop or in the field, I’m at home in Garland, Utah, with my wife and family, or working on our small cattle farm. This business is personal to me, and that’s exactly how I treat the work.
Thanks for trusting me with your animal.
